Carb counting

Why is carb counting important?

Carb counting can help you control your blood glucose levels as carbohydrates affect your blood glucose more than other nutrients.

How does it work?

Set the Target.

No more than 45% of the calories in your diet should come from carbs. Example: If your calorie target is 1600 everyday then no more than 720 calories should come from carbs

Calculate

1 g of carbohydrate provides 4 calories. Example: If you want to consume 720 cals, you should consume no more than 180 g of carbs in a day

Make your Plate

1 serving of carbs = 15g. It is recommended to have 30-60 g of carbs in meal for women and 45-75 g of carbs in a meal for men.
